Heartfelt words from our floral student : {Wan Theng}

I took the 2 day mentorship class specifically curated by Sarah. I am a complete beginner in the field of arts and florals, hence I really wanted to accelerate my learning process by learning from the best. After tons of research, I finally decided to go with Sarah for her classes.

What I really like about Sarah was her, getting to understand me as an individual. This includes my past experiences, current background and future aspirations. She curated and planned her class according to what she as a teacher thinks aligns best with me.

Sarah is generous in sharing her knowledge and experiences, does not hold back on her teachings from the moment i stepped into class.

A strong natured artist whom have her own unique style, Sarah also welcomes new ideas and allows me to explore my creativity during our sessions. Through her classes, i not only learnt about different floral concepts and theory, i picked up life skills such as critical thinking on the spot, being flexible, utilizing what is available to create the best masterpiece.

I learnt how to see the beauty in every stalk of flower, appreciate their imperfection and find a home for each of them, instead of discarding them because they don’t fit into the “perfect frame”.

I think a good artist is similar to that of a chef. A true chef doesn’t need the most expensive equipment, ingredients or best recipes to create a winning dish. They are capable of creating a masterpiece with what is given to them, using their expertise and creativity that they have thoughtfully honed over the years. To me, that is the true essence of an artist. Sarah also gave me a lot of confidence and belief in the work that I have created, and I think that is very important for a beginner stepping into an entirely foreign field of work. One of the best things we can do for ourselves is to invest in ourselves, and I am so glad that I found Sarah as my floral teacher. Thank you for your patience, kindness and generosity🩷

I look forward to taking more classes with Sarah in the future!
